One usually has to wait until the sun sets to see the bats fly over Austin, but on June 1, 2025 the Bats were out in full force in the early afternoon sun, as they claimed their first ever SWLA title. The Austin Capitals, a regular contender for the SWLA crown, stormed out to an early 7-1 lead. The Bats began chipping away at the lead as the second quarter came to an end, and continued to grind away methodically in the second half. The Bats scored the game tying goal with under a minute left in the game to send the game into overtime. In the second overtime, the Bats were finally able to secure their first SWLA Championship victory with a game winning goal from Keith Jayne. Both Goaltenders for the Bats, Oliver Abrasion and Connor Hanson, made fantastic timely saves to keep their team in the game, and allow for the comeback. Eight different players scored for the Bats, showcasing their team depth. Keith Jayne lead the way for the Bats with 3 goals and 1 assist, followed by Connor Vercruysse with 2 goals, and Menson Poquie with 1 goal and 2 assists. The Capitals standout players included Pierce Kraft (4 goals, 1 assist), Alex Weber (3 goals), Deryk Delahanty (3 goals), Keegan O'Connor (3 assists), and Goaltender Cade Tolbert (13 Saves).
