In our night cap of week 4 we saw a battle between our Southside teams as the Southside Birds took on the Southside Shamrocks. It looked to be competitive early as the Birds took a 2-1 lead early in the first half. After some missed opportunities on both sides, the Birds took flight and began to pump in the goals. Led by 3 goals and 1 assist from Richter, along with 2 goals from both Currier and Latorre, the Southside Birds dominated the last 3/4 of the game and won 11-3 to stay undefeated on the season.

Temps began to drop and the lax picked up in our 3rd game of the Ulax Naperville Week 4. The Nightcrawlers and Valhalla Vikings went toe to toe in this one. Both teams exchanged goals early, but Nightcrawlers took a 5-2 lead halfway through the first half. The Valhalla Vikings have been known to come back and did just that as they tied the game right before halftime 5-5. In the second half it was more of the same. For the Vikings, Baumley netted 4 goals and added an assist while Sochacki had 2 goals and 3 assists and Wood adding 1 goal and 3 assists for the Nightcrawlers. As time was winding down in the 4th, the Nightcrawlers held a one goal lead as we went under 2 minutes. Valhalla Vikings had the ball with just under a minute left and got 2 shots off, but neither on target. Then as time was expiring, Sexton took a shot from 15 yards out that hit the goalie and snuck in. It looked like a tie, but the referees determined the shot came after the horn and the goal was disallowed. It was heartbreak as the Valhalla Vikings drop a 4th consecutive game by just one goal. 10-9 Nightcrawlers win.

In game 2, we were back to our regular scheduled halves as the wind picked up and the sun began to set. It was still warm out, but very playable. In a battle of the Big Cats the Mild Cats took on the Tigeons. The first half saw some back and forth action early with the Mild Cats taking a 8-2 lead into the half. Rovito finished the game with 5 goals and 1 assist while Curley in cage for the Mild Cats had another strong showing with 9 saves and only 3 goals against. Turnovers plagued both teams in the second half as the scoring died down and the ball kept going out of bounced. Mild Cats took this game 14-3.

Red Hook boys dominated all game tonight. Tyson DeLisio was tonight’s star with 6 goals and 9 total points. Cradle Rockers battled until the end, and goalie CJ Alessandri made 7 saves.
