The final game of Week 2 of the ULAX summer season featured Lock Jaw taking on Bay Ridge in a rain-soaked matchup. Bay Ridge came ready to compete, bringing plenty of energy and heart despite the difficult conditions, but Lock Jaw asserted itself from the opening whistle. Lock Jaw jumped out to an early lead behind dominant faceoff play and a relentless offensive attack. Controlling possession throughout the game, they consistently pushed the pace and capitalized on scoring opportunities, continuing to add to their lead as the game progressed. Although the scoreboard was one-sided, Bay Ridge's goalkeeper was the standout performer for his team. Facing a constant barrage of shots, he recorded an impressive 10 saves and kept the game from becoming even more lopsided. His effort between the pipes was a bright spot as Bay Ridge continued to battle through the rain until the final whistle. Defensively, Lock Jaw was just as impressive as its offense. Their disciplined unit limited Bay Ridge's scoring chances all game long, while strong faceoff play ensured they controlled possession and dictated the tempo from start to finish. When the final whistle sounded, Lock Jaw had completed one of the most dominant performances of the young season, earning a convincing 17-0 victory. With explosive offense, stifling defense, and complete control at the faceoff stripe, Lock Jaw sent a clear message that they will be a force to be reckoned with as the ULAX summer season continues.

The Cakez pulled off a hard-fought 7–6 victory over Marquette in a nail-biting matchup that came down to grit, balance, and clutch goalkeeping. 🔥 Cakez Highlights The Cakez offense was led by #5 J. Donnellan and #8 S. Gregory, who each netted two goals to keep pressure on the Marquette defense throughout the game. Additional scoring came from #27 S. Gustafson, while #11 N. Pound and #13 D. Brueske each contributed one goal and one assist, showcasing strong ball movement and team chemistry. 🧤 Cakez Goalkeeping Stands Tall Between the pipes, the Cakez delivered a standout performance. • #15 M. Schramm recorded 2 saves in the first half, keeping the game tight early. • #22 G. Wohlford took over in the second half and was a difference-maker, turning aside 10 saves to seal the win. ⚔️ Marquette Highlights Marquette battled until the final whistle, led by #38 B. The second game of Week 2 featured two teams coming off dominant opening-week victories as the Risk Takers faced off against Bronx Science in a highly anticipated matchup. Both squads entered with momentum, but it was the Risk Takers who seized control from the opening whistle. Fueled by dominant faceoff play, the Risk Takers controlled possession early and often, quickly jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, combining crisp, unselfish ball movement with sharp finishing around the cage. Every player seemed willing to make the extra pass, creating high-quality scoring opportunities throughout the game. Bronx Science continued to battle and generated several chances to get back into the contest, but the Risk Takers' goalkeeper put together a stellar performance between the pipes. Time and time again, he came up with timely saves to shut down Bronx Science's attack and prevent any momentum from building. With complete control of possession, a balanced offensive attack, and lockdown defense, the Risk Takers never allowed Bronx Science to mount a serious comeback. Their dominance on both ends of the field resulted in a convincing 12-4 victory, sending a message to the rest of the league that they are one of the teams to beat this summer. The statement win keeps the Risk Takers rolling through the ULAX season, while Bronx Science will look to regroup as they prepare for their next challenge.

Lakefront Legends Continue Dominance with 11–3 Win Over Purple Princesses The Lakefront Legends delivered another commanding performance, defeating the Purple Princesses 11–3 and continuing their strong run of play. The Legends’ offense was firing on all cylinders, led by #9 C. Jelacic and #39 J. Latte, who each recorded 3 goals and 1 assist. #3 A. Perri added 2 goals, while additional scoring came from #8 L. Mueller, #11 A. Bode, and #13 J. Sinclair, rounding out a balanced attack that kept pressure on the Purple Princesses throughout the game. Despite the lopsided score, the Purple Princesses showed resilience while playing under challenging conditions. Once again competing without a goalie and without any substitutes, the team fought through the full game. #34 A. Rios, #35 K. Sanderfoot, and #47 (name unknown) each found the back of the net, accounting for all three goals. The absence of a dedicated goalie and lack of substitutions may have played a significant role in the outcome, especially against a deep and disciplined Lakefront Legends squad. As the season finale approaches, all eyes turn to one lingering question: will the Purple Princesses’ goalie make an appearance for the final game?

Week 2 of the ULAX summer season opened with a heated rivalry as Bronx Lacrosse squared off against The Birds on a cold, rainy Monday evening. Despite the weather, both teams came out flying, delivering one of the most entertaining games of the season so far. Bronx Lacrosse struck first, but The Birds quickly responded with back-to-back goals to take an early lead. The two teams traded momentum throughout the first half, with neither side able to create much separation. Strong defensive play and excellent performances from both goalkeepers kept the game tight, sending the teams into halftime with everything still up for grabs. Bronx came out of the break with renewed energy and began to take control of the contest. Their offense found its rhythm, stringing together several key goals while the defense continued to make timely stops to build a commanding second-half advantage. The Birds refused to go quietly. With just a few minutes remaining, they produced one of the highlights of the night when an attacker buried a spectacular behind-the-back goal, cutting into the deficit and giving their team one last surge of momentum. However, Bronx stayed composed, controlled possession down the stretch, and closed out the victory. In the end, Bronx Lacrosse earned a hard-fought 10-7 win over The Birds, improving their standing with another impressive performance. Through rain, physical play, and momentum swings, both teams showcased the competitiveness and talent that continue to make the ULAX summer season must-watch lacrosse.
